I studied anthropology at the University of Virginia before earning my master’s in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. How people live has always mattered to me as much as how spaces are built.

Before design, there was music, motion, and timing: classical violin from age three, guitar in a rock band, shifts on the floor of a record store, and years as a competitive diver. I was a two-time high school All-American on the springboard. I guess precision, rhythm, and instinct have a way of following you.

My design career began with Murray Moss and Franklin Getchell at Moss Bureau, the consultancy that followed their legendary SoHo design store, where museum shops, interiors, objects, and curatorial strategy all lived in the same conversation. That work included a collaboration with Rockwell Group on Chefs Club, which was my first encounter with the firm.

I went on to work across hospitality, food & beverage, workplace, and concept-driven interiors at firms including ICRAVE and Rockwell Group, with projects reaching from Tokyo to the Middle East and across the U.S.

Pior Home came from a simple conviction: that serious design thinking should not stay locked inside high-end commercial work. It should show up in the rooms of everyday people.

Currently, I live in a home built in 1922 with my wife and son, always wondering what a room can become.
